In case of poisoning, it is important to prevent dehydration of the body with subsequent unpleasant phenomena. Rehydration solutions, both pharmacy and homemade, prevent dehydration, but cannot eliminate the very cause of the disease.

The composition of the pharmacy "Regidron"

The composition of the drug Regidron, which can be purchased in almost every pharmacy, includes the following components:

The mineral composition of the pharmacy Regidron is presented in the form of sodium, potassium and chlorine ions. The above doses of the active substances of this drug are contained in 1 sachet of rehydrating powder.

How to replace Regidron

Rehydron is not a prescription drug, so you can buy it at any pharmacy without any problems. In addition to the original drug Regidron, there are many more analogs with other names, but the same composition and action.

The most common:

  • Humana Electrolyte;
  • Orasan;
  • Marathonite.

Humana Electrolyte Orasan

Important! Pharmacy drugs dissolve only in water. Mixing of an aqueous solution with additional components is not allowed.

At home, Regidron for a child can be prepared with fruit broth or a little honey can be added to improve the taste.

Pharmacy preparations are sachets filled with a white powdery substance. The contents of the sachets are diluted at home with water as indicated on the package and taken orally according to the instructions.

Indications for the use of Regidron

Rehydron, purchased at a pharmacy, as well as one that is prepared at home, is indicated for use in the presence of pathological conditions of the body.

This type of rehydration solution is used in the following cases:

  • acute diarrhea that does not stop for a long period of time;
  • imbalance of electrolytes (established by the results of laboratory tests of venous blood);
  • dehydration of moderate to mild severity without signs of complications;
  • repeated vomiting, which leads to a systematic loss of fluid, chloride ions, sodium, potassium.

The main purpose of Rehydron is oral rehydration of the body and prevention of dehydration. The regimen for taking this drug depends on the general condition of the patient, as well as the causal factors that provoked fluid loss, electrolyte and water-salt balance disturbances.

The appointment of Rehydron therapy should be carried out only by the attending physician who conducts a preliminary examination of the patient.

Who is contraindicated for "Regidron"

Even such an affordable drug cannot be taken by anyone suffering from dehydration. Diseases of the liver and kidneys, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, excessive potassium in the body, intestinal obstruction, loss of consciousness are contraindications for the use of "Regidron". The use of the drug in the treatment of infants creates an additional burden on the kidneys.

Repeated use of the mixture is prohibited if, after the first intake, an allergic reaction developed: the temperature increased, traces of blood appeared in the feces, and speech became incoherent and indistinct. Medical assistance with such a development of clinical manifestations is required immediately.

Contraindications

Rehydron (at home, this solution can be prepared using salt, sugar, baking soda) is a drug that has a minimum number of contraindications.

This medication is strictly prohibited for use in the following cases:

  • the presence of individual intolerance to the constituent components of the drug, which are expressed in the form of allergic reactions (itching, redness of the skin, rash, edema of epithelial tissues);
  • coma;
  • Severe vomiting when the use of a rehydration agent is not beneficial
  • diarrhea provoked by the causative agent of cholera;
  • severe dehydration (in this case, intravenous administration of other types of rehydration solutions will be required);
  • intestinal obstruction, regardless of the nature of the origin of this pathology;
  • glucose-galactose malabsorption. Rehydron

Rehydron has no contraindications for use in relation to women who are in a state of pregnancy, as well as lactating a newborn baby by breastfeeding. At the same time, this drug with a special used with caution for the treatment of patients with the following types of diseases:

  • all types of severe liver pathologies that are associated with the destruction of hepatocytes, as well as a violation of the functional activity of this organ;
  • renal failure (the composition of Rehydron contains potassium, which increases the load on the kidneys);
  • diabetes mellitus (in people with this disease, dehydration or a sharp replenishment of lost fluid can cause a decrease or increase in glucose levels).

Patients suffering from the above diseases should undergo Rehydron therapy in an inpatient department of the hospital. Otherwise, various complications may occur.

If rehydration occurs at home, and soon after taking the prepared solution, the following symptoms appear, then you must immediately consult a doctor:

  • increased irritability in the absence of a clear cause for concern;
  • severe pain localized inside the abdomen (may have a spasmodic or shooting character);
  • repeated vomiting, which does not stop, despite taking medication;
  • body temperature has risen to 39 degrees Celsius;
  • there is bloody discharge from the rectum;
  • drowsiness;
  • a state of stupor;
  • any speech disorders;
  • loss of physical strength and fatigue after minor exertion;
  • diarrhea that lasts more than 48 hours

The occurrence of the above symptoms, which appear immediately after taking Regidron, is typical for people with diabetes mellitus, liver and kidney failure.

The constituents of this rehydrating agent do not adversely affect the functions of the central nervous system. In this regard, Rehydron's solution can be used by vehicle drivers, operators of machines, installations, mechanisms, as well as by persons performing work with increased danger.

Description of the drug

Despite the fact that the drug has long established itself as an effective and safe remedy for dehydration, both the pharmacy Regidron and the self-prepared remedy have a number of contraindications.

Rehydron should be taken with caution by people with the following pathologies:

  1. Diabetes mellitus, both type 1 and 2;
  2. Acute renal failure
  3. Bowel obstruction.

In addition, after using the drug, hypertensive patients should take care of removing excess salts from the body with the help of diuretics. Otherwise, an excess of salts can provoke an increase in pressure.

How to dissolve pharmacy powder?

Rehydron (you can prepare this remedy at home in 10-15 minutes) is a safe source of electrolytes and mineral salts.

To dissolve the rehydrating powder, the following procedure must be followed:

After completing the above steps, the ready-made Regidron solution, which is colorless and odorless, is ready for oral administration. For severely unconscious patients, this drug may be administered through a nasogastric tube.

In order not to violate the pharmacological properties of the rehydrating solution, no other substances should be added to the finished medication. Dissolution of Rehydron must be carried out in strict compliance with these rules.

Why do you need rehydron after jogging?

During intense jogging, nutrients, salts, minerals and fluids are lost from the body. There is a widespread belief that you should not drink after jogging for a while, but this is not the case.

There is only 2 limitation:

  • do not drink cold drinks
  • no need to drink a lot of liquid.

In general, after class, you can drink any healthy drink:

  • non-carbonated mineral water;
  • milk;
  • juice from freshly squeezed fruits and vegetables;
  • chilled cocoa.

But specialized sports drinks, which include carbohydrates, proteins, salts, caffeine, and minerals, are best.

They perfectly restore balance in the body and bring it to life faster after long distances and loads. Such drinks can be made independently using the drug "Regidron".

For classes more than 3 hours you need:

  • 1.5 liters of boiled water.
  • 0.5 liters of freshly squeezed juice of vegetables or fruits.
  • ¼ sachet "Regidron".

It is necessary to mix everything in a container and stir. This mixture can be taken in small doses, even while running, as a dry mouth develops or after overcoming a distance.

How to make Rehydron with your own hands, proportions for a glass of water, instructions

Rehydron (at home, you can prepare a solution in a few minutes) is a means for rehydrating the body, which does not differ in a particularly complex chemical composition. In this regard, the finished product is easy to make on your own. To do this, you must follow the rules set out in the instructions for preparing "home" Regidron.

Salt and sugar in a glass of water

To prepare Rehydron based on these components, you will need to follow the following instructions:

  1. Boil 200 ml of drinking water in a clean metal container.
  2. Cool the liquid to room temperature that is comfortable to drink.
  3. Add 1 tsp to cooled boiled water. granulated sugar and table salt.
  4. All components of homemade Rehydron are thoroughly mixed until the crystals of salt and sugar completely disappear from the bottom of the glass.

After the ingredients of the rehydration agent are completely dissolved, the drink is ready to drink. In the process of preparing Rehydron using this recipe, it is necessary to use ordinary salt, which is not iodized, and also does not contain other artificial additives.

Sugar, salt and soda

Rehydron (you can prepare this remedy at home according to several recipes) is prepared not only with sugar and kitchen salt, but also with the addition of baking soda.

To do this, you must observe the following sequence of actions:

  1. Boil 0.2 liters of drinking water in a clean metal container.
  2. Wait until the indicated amount of liquid has cooled to room temperature.
  3. Add 1 tsp to chilled water. granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. kitchen salt.
  4. All ingredients of homemade Rehydron are thoroughly and slowly mixed until completely dissolved.

Once the constituents of the rehydration agent are dissolved, the drink is ready to drink. Rehydron, containing baking soda, is able to change the pH of the digestive system towards alkalization. This fact must be taken into account by people who have low acidity of gastric juice, or they have chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

On a decoction of black raisins

In the process of preparing homemade Rehydron, instead of water, you can use a raisin decoction, which contains fructose, and also contributes to additional fortification of the body.

The recipe for this tool is as follows:

  1. You will need to take 30 g of raisins, for 10 minutes. pour it with cold water, and then rinse thoroughly so that there is no dirt and sand on the surface of the dried berries.
  2. Within 30 min. boil this amount of raisins in 200 ml of water.
  3. At the end of the cooking process, cool the raisin broth, and then strain it through cheesecloth to separate the berries from the broth.
  4. In the future, add a rehydration agent 1 tsp. granulated sugar, 1 tsp. kitchen salt, as well as 1/4 tsp. baking soda.
  5. All of the above components must be thoroughly mixed, and then this solution must be boiled for another 2 minutes.

After completing the above steps, the home Rehydron based on raisin decoction is ready for use. This remedy may be contraindicated in people who are prone to an allergic reaction to grapes.

Components and cooking conditions

To prepare rehydration solution yourself, you will need the following components:

  • salt;
  • granulated sugar;
  • boiled drinking water;
  • baking soda;
  • a vessel with a volume of 0.5 to 1 liter;
  • tea spoon.

The recipe for homemade Rehydron does not require sterility, but cleanliness at the place of preparation of the drug must be observed. Otherwise, it is possible for pathogens to enter the solution and aggravate the patient's condition due to the attached bacterial microflora.

Rules of use, doses for adults and children

The main rule for using Rehydron is compliance with the dosing regimen, as well as the use of only fresh solution. To prevent electrolyte imbalance, it is recommended to drink 100-200 ml of this product a day.

In order to eliminate signs of mild dehydration, homemade Rehydron is taken 1 liter per day, which is divided into 2-3 doses. Violation of the water-salt balance of moderate severity should be eliminated with the participation of a specialized doctor. In this case, home remedies may not be enough.

Symptoms of dehydration

Food poisoning and diarrhea and vomiting caused by it;

Increased sweating caused by exercise or climatic conditions; Heat or sunstroke;

Frequent urination;

Solution "Regidron": how to cook at home, advice from Dr. Komarovsky, who is contraindicated

How to make Rehydron at home - recipe and composition

When we come to this world, water makes up almost ninety percent of our weight.

Physiologists have determined that age and fluid content in the body are related: the older a person becomes, the less life-giving moisture in him.

And dehydration leads not only to dry skin and wrinkles: blood thickens, hypoxia occurs, the threat of thrombus formation and many other pathological changes.

Causes of fluid loss

There are situations when a healthy body insists on drinking. A similar state of thirst can occur due to alimentary reasons that have disturbed the water-salt balance: you overeat sweets or salty ones.

Thirsty even after fluid loss as a result of sweating and rapid breathing during physical exertion, due to the high ambient temperature.

These are physiological reasons for moisture loss, which can be replenished by drinking water, kvass, whey.

When illness comes, the picture changes. The body in a short period of time runs the risk of losing such volumes of fluid, which will raise the question about the patient's life. Vomiting and diarrhea are most dangerous.

But even those losses that occur at high temperatures and increased sweat production can also provoke severe disturbances in the work of the whole organism.

Dehydration processes pose the greatest threat to babies.

Warning signs of dehydration

Thirst, upset stool (defecation occurs up to five times per day), even in the absence of vomiting - this is already a reason to take rehydration measures, since the process of dehydration has begun. At the first degree, the tissues have not yet lost their elasticity, the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth are still wet.

Pronounced signs of dehydration can appear very quickly - the very next day after the onset of the disease. Second degree requires medical attention, and as soon as possible.

  • Dry skin and mucous membranes.
  • Sunken fontanelle.
  • Tachycardia.
  • Arrhythmia.
  • Lack of tears while crying.
  • Defecation up to ten times, watery feces.
  • Repeated vomiting.

The final, third stage is characterized by extremely severe manifestations, indicating the loss of serious volumes of fluid.

  • Pale, dry skin and mucous, sunken eyeballs, barely covered by the eyelids.
  • Expressed cyanosis.
  • A patient with pointed facial features, non-contact, cold extremities.
  • There is no reaction to external stimuli.
  • Heartbeats are quickened and irregular, blood pressure decreases.
  • Defecation and urination are becoming less common.
  • Due to increasing dehydration, circles under the eyes appear more clearly, the skin resembles marble.
  • The kidneys stop working, defecation is not observed.
  • Convulsive seizures.
  • Death.

Restoration of water-salt balance

With dehydration, the patient's body loses not only fluid, but also electrolytes. Therefore, it is necessary to use special means.

Among the many medicines on the pharmacy showcases, you can choose from "Gastrolit", "Orasan", "Orsol", "Maratonika", "Reosolan" and others.

For babies get "Gidrovit" with strawberry flavor, "Citraglukosolan". Any of these can be purchased without a prescription.

The most popular remedy for rehydration and detoxification is Rehydron. The dosed powder contains:

  • 2.5 g of potassium chloride;
  • 2.9 g sodium citrate dihydrate;
  • 3.5 g sodium chloride;
  • 10 g dextrose.

This irreplaceable powder replenishes the content of potassium and sodium in the body, normalizes acidity and regulates osmotic processes. The acid-base balance is restored, and the monosaccharide supplies energy for metabolic reactions, which is necessary for detoxification.

Homemade mortar recipes

If there is no “Rehydron” in the home medicine cabinet or pharmacy, you can prepare a rehydration solution at home with your own hands.

Salt, soda and sugar should be included in the remedy for restoring the water-salt balance (we will replace dextrose with them).

Now you need to decide on what recipe the healing solution will be prepared. There are several of them.

  • Recipe 1. The World Health Organization recommends a completely affordable and uncomplicated option on how to make "Regidron" at home. Komarovsky, a renowned pediatrician, popularized it. Mix dry ingredients: two tablespoons of granulated sugar, one teaspoon each of baking soda and table salt. All portions are flat. Add 1 liter of settled and boiled water, mix. Heat the solution to 37.
  • Recipe 2. This is the easiest way to prepare "Regidron". In a glass, mix a teaspoon of salt and the same amount of sugar, add boiled water to the top.
  • Recipe 3. For a liter of water (boiled) add four tablespoons of granulated sugar, half a teaspoon of baking soda and the same amount of salt.
  • Recipe 4. In a liter jar, dissolve a tablespoon without a hill of salt, in the second, stir the same amount of sugar. You need to take these liquids one at a time, with an interval of ten minutes.

All saline solutions are not the most delicious drinks, and the child does not always agree to take them.

Dr. Komarovsky advises that in such a case, with slight dehydration, it is permissible to use a decoction of raisins or other drink with a small amount of glucose in the composition, with the exception of carbonated drinks with a high sugar content such as "Fanta" or "Cola". Water is needed, but only boiled.

Rehydration rules

You can take a pharmacy drug on your own or instead of it "Regidron", made at home, only with a slight degree of dehydration. An analogue may well replace a purchased product, but it will have a slightly smaller effect.

At the beginning of rehydration, the patient should drink enough to double the loss of fluid.

In the future, the dosage is easy to calculate: while the diarrhea is pronounced, ten milliliters of the drug solution are taken for each kilogram of weight. When bowel movements become less frequent, the dose taken is halved. When vomiting, you need to drink a medicinal drug additionally and also ten milliliters per kilogram of the patient's weight.

The baby can be given one, maximum, two teaspoons of the solution at a time. This should be done in ten minutes. If vomiting occurs frequently, it is necessary to drink the saline rehydrate from a pipette between each manifestation. The daily dose for a small child should be prescribed by a doctor. This is done by multiplying the body weight of the crumbs by a volume of 30 to 50 ml.

The multiplicity of admission depends on clinical manifestations: after each act of defecation with liquid masses and vomiting. Typically, salt solutions are used to rehydrate up to five days.

Important. The temperature of the composition should help his absorption as soon as possible - it is heated (up to 37 degrees). But in the case when vomiting does not allow the child to assimilate the drug, you can try to give it pieces of frozen solutions.

How to prepare a regider at home?

How to make Rehydron at home - recipe and composition

Poisoning is often accompanied by dehydration of the body, while it is very important to restore the water-salt balance as soon as possible, if the necessary funds were not in the first-aid kit, you can very quickly prepare Rehydron at home.

In case of poisoning, it is important to prevent dehydration of the body with subsequent unpleasant phenomena. Rehydration solutions, both pharmacy and homemade, prevent dehydration, but cannot eliminate the very cause of the disease.

What do you need a regider

The regider is a mixture of water and salts, which allows you to compensate for the loss of vital minerals, salts and liquids. The drug practically does not have contraindications and is a wand-grinding for moms of kids.

Most childhood diseases have an infectious nature and are accompanied by unpleasant symptoms leading to pathological loss of fluid. Dehydration is dangerous and for an adult person, what to talk about children, in whose symptoms can appear in an hour after the appearance of poisoning symptoms.

Dr. Komarovsky claims that rehydration drugs must be present in the first-aid kit of every sensible person.

In addition, this simple drug is indispensable for diseases accompanied by vomiting, elevated temperature and diarrhea, it is recommended to be used with intensive physical exertion and overheating. This simple drug has no side effects and differs not only by high efficiency, but also the speed of exposure.

Overdose of ferrous

It should be remembered that the reception of even very large doses of both pharmacy reguder and the drug that we do ourselves will lead to overdose. Only the use of large doses of the drug for a long time can provoke hypernatrimia.

Symptoms for overdose:

  • weakness;
  • nervousness;
  • convulsions;
  • violation of consciousness;
  • Children can have a coma.

In case of overdose, it is necessary to get rid of an excess in the body of mineral salts with diuretic drugs. In this case, furymide or its analogues are well suited.

What is the pharmacy drug:

  • potassium chloride;
  • sodium citrate;
  • sodium chloride;
  • water;
  • glucose.

Recipe for Recipe Recipe at home

There are several options for the preparation of the solution to restore the electrolyte balance itself if there is no pharmacy preparation.

The easiest option can be done by yourself even on a picnic or hike. For the manufacture of a solution with dehydration, it is sufficient to dissolve on 1 teaspoon of salt and sugar in a glass of warm boiled water.

The following option is much better and faster thanks to the body, its composition is quite similar to pharmacy, so with strong dehydration it is better to prepare it instead of pharmaceutical regider.

For cooking you need:

  • 0.5 l. purified or boiled warm water;
  • 2 tbsp. Sugar spoons;
  • 1 / 4th soda spoon;
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Mix everything thoroughly until the crystals are completely dissolved.

The last recipe is almost identical to the previous one and is an excellent replacement for the regarder. It is necessary to separately dissolve 1 tbsp. A spoonful salt and sugar in a liter of water. Take every 10 minutes. Along the throat of one and the other solution. You can also prepare a solution of soda and salts dissolved separately.

When and how to use homemade solution

At the first sign of poisoning, especially in children, you should start taking small doses of rehydration solution right away. If there are already signs of dehydration, the dosage is increased.

Dehydration symptoms:

  1. Dry mouth;
  2. Children cry without tears;
  3. Dry skin;
  4. Infrequent urination;
  5. There is no effect of antipyretic drugs.

Important! If the temperature of the Rehydron solution is the same as the body temperature, it is much faster and better absorbed by the body.

Rehydration is usually given orally to a child, provided that the patient can swallow and absorb the drug. However, if you vomit incessantly, you can try to make pieces of ice from the solution yourself, this can make the process easier.

If the drunk medicine does not have time to be absorbed by the body (the patient vomits immediately after taking the solution), Regidron must be administered intravenously. The latter option is carried out only by qualified doctors in a hospital setting.

Both the pharmacy and homemade saline solution does not taste the most pleasant. You should not expect that the patient will drink half a glass with delight, and this is not required. It is enough if the person takes at least a sip of the solution every 10-15 minutes. Children can be given a teaspoon of the drug.

You can store the aqueous solution in a cool place for no more than a day. It is best if the drug is not used after 3 hours, prepare a new one. This is due to the fact that salts begin to precipitate and the drug loses its beneficial properties.

How to make Rehydron at home from salt, sugar and soda

How to make Rehydron at home - recipe and composition13,396 views

When intestinal infections develop or symptoms of food poisoning develop, it is important to stay hydrated.

Conditions in which a violation of the water-salt balance of the body is possible require the intake of hydrating agents, the most popular of which is Regidron.

You should always have this drug in your home first-aid kit, or at least know how to make Rehydron at home from the products at hand.

Why take a hydrating agent?

Rehydron is a powder for dilution in water. After its dissolution, a liquid is obtained, which, when taken internally, compensates for the loss of water by the body.

In addition, it restores the lack of salts and minerals that have been excreted from the body with vomiting, loose stools with diarrhea and sweat.

An optimal water-salt balance ensures the normal functioning of all organs.

Preparation of an analogue of Regidron

A similar solution can be obtained by dissolving the ingredients available in every home in water - water, soda, table salt and sugar. Before preparing Regidron at home, you need to boil water (at least a liter). Water is poured into a glass or ceramic container - a decanter, a jar, a jug - and wait for it to cool down to 37-38 degrees. Add to cooled water (1 l):

  • 3 grams of salt (1 teaspoon without a slide);
  • 18 g sugar (1 incomplete tablespoon).

All components are mixed until complete dissolution. This Rehydron recipe is recognized by WHO experts as meeting the requirements for rehydration drugs.

Attention! An analogue of Rehydron, prepared at home, as well as a pharmaceutical preparation, will have a specific, unpleasant taste.

It is better to drink the solution slightly warm. If the temperature of the liquid is 37-38 degrees, like the body temperature, its absorption will be more effective.

There are several ways to make Rehydron at home. The recipe described above is considered the most popular. But you can also prepare a rehydration preparation by mixing in a liter of boiled water:

  • 10 teaspoons of sugar;
  • half teaspoon soda;
  • half h. l. salt.

We advise you to find out the symptoms of a subphrenic abscess.

Another option: 20 grams of sugar, 3 grams of salt, 2 grams of soda are dissolved in a liter of liquid. If there is no kitchen scale at hand and there is no opportunity to accurately measure bulk components in grams, you can use the following proportions:

  • 2 glasses of water;
  • Art. a spoonful of granulated sugar;
  • one teaspoon at a time. salt and soda.

It is important to stir the components until all the crystals are dissolved in the water. After that, the product can be considered ready for use.

Note: it is recommended to drink the resulting solution within 3 hours from preparation. After this time, it is better to prepare a fresh portion.

How to take a rehydration agent?

It is necessary to take the solution, regardless of whether you are using a pharmacy preparation or an analogue prepared from home ingredients, in a warm form. If its taste is disgusting, it should be drunk in small sips. For small children, you can give it a teaspoon every 5-7 minutes. Some parents use a needleless syringe to solder a child.

Note: The daily dose of the rehydration solution depends on the patient's body weight and the severity of symptoms. For example, with diarrhea of mild severity, the dose is 40-50 ml per 1 kg of body weight, that is, with a patient weighing 60 kg, it is necessary to drink about 2.5 liters of the drug solution. With moderate severity of symptoms, the dose is increased to 80-100 ml for each kilogram of weight.

In the first 6 hours from the onset of symptoms of the disease, it is necessary to drink Regidron in an amount 2 times greater than the volume of fluid lost by the body. To determine this volume, the patient must be weighed.

Despite the availability of ingredients for the preparation of an analogue of a medicinal product, it is still better to use a pharmacy preparation with an accurately measured amount of components. When using it, it is important to strictly follow the instructions and observe the recommended proportions and doses.

If these recommendations are violated, an overdose of the drug is possible, which manifests itself in hypernatremia. Symptoms of this condition are expressed in confusion, drowsiness, powerlessness, and in some cases, a person may fall into a coma with respiratory arrest. Hyperkalemia is also possible, manifested by an abnormal heart rhythm.

Therefore, taking the drug should be carried out clearly in accordance with the instructions, and the dosage must be agreed with the doctor.

Store pharmacy or homemade solution is necessary at temperatures from 2 to 8 ° C and no more than 2 days. Powder pharmacy can be kept in a dry and dark place for over 2 years. The drug should be underway outside the access of small children.

Overdose of ferrous

The regider has been applied for more than 10 years as a means for restoring dehydration and electrolyte balance of the human body. But the disorder of dosage and drug intake can lead to negative consequences.

The composition of the reguder consists of:

  • sodium chloride;
  • potassium chloride;
  • sodium citrate dihydrate;
  • dextrose;
  • Vitamins of various groups.

For receipt of the drug, it is necessary to dissolve 1 bag for 1 liter of boiled water and well stir the solution so that there is no precipitate on the bottom.

Under all the recommendations of side effects, not detected. If you exceed the dosage with a drug, hypernatremia may occur. Her symptoms are: drowsiness, weakness, loss of consciousness, tolerance in whom and in rare cases stopping the breath.

People with a degraded work of the kidney during overdose may begin a metabolic alkalosis, which will affect the deterioration of the lungs, the occurrence of tetanic seizures.

If these symptoms of the overdose of the regiment occurred, it should be immediately applied to the hospital:

  • strong fatigue and drowsiness;
  • Slow speech;
  • diarrhea for more than 5 days;
  • the appearance of severe pain in the abdomen;
  • temperature over 39;
  • bloody stools.

Self-treatment is by no means recommended.

Taking this drug is possible in conjunction with other drugs, since "Regidron" has a weak alkaline reaction. The solution can be taken while driving and does not affect the reaction rate and concentration.

Rehydron at home with a WHO approved prescription

Rehydron at home with a WHO approved prescription

When intestinal infections develop or symptoms of food poisoning develop, it is important to stay hydrated. Conditions in which a violation of the water-salt balance of the body is possible require the intake of hydrating agents, the most popular of which is Regidron. You should always have this drug in your home first-aid kit, or at least know how to make Rehydron at home from the products at hand.

Content:

Why take a hydrating agent?

Rehydron is a powder for dilution in water. After its dissolution, a liquid is obtained, which, when taken internally, compensates for the loss of water by the body. In addition, it restores the lack of salts and minerals that were excreted from the body with vomiting, loose stools with diarrhea and sweat. An optimal water-salt balance ensures the normal functioning of all organs.

action of the remedy

How to dissolve pharmacy powder?

The drug contains dextrose, potassium chloride, sodium citrate and sodium chloride. The powder contained in one package of the preparation (weighing 18.9 g) is dissolved in a liter of boiled chilled water. The result is a clear solution with a specific salty-sweet taste. It is taken in small portions (in small sips or measured in teaspoons) throughout the day, regardless of meals and time of day.

  • 3 grams of salt (1 teaspoon without a slide);

If the temperature of the liquid is 37-38 degrees, like the body temperature, its absorption will be more effective.

reception of funds

There are several ways to make Rehydron at home. The recipe described above is considered the most popular. But you can also prepare a rehydration preparation by mixing in a liter of boiled water:

  • 10 teaspoons of sugar;
  • half teaspoon soda;
  • half h. l. salt.

Another option: 20 grams of sugar, 3 grams of salt, 2 grams of soda are dissolved in a liter of liquid. If there is no kitchen scale at hand and there is no opportunity to accurately measure bulk components in grams, you can use the following proportions:

  • 2 glasses of water;
  • Art. a spoonful of granulated sugar;

To determine this volume, the patient must be weighed.

analogue means

Rehydron at home

Indigestion and intestinal infection of the body, accompanied by frequent loose stools, is fraught with dehydration. To prevent disturbances in water-salt metabolism, oral rehydration agents should be used. These include Rehydron, which can be made at home if commercial powder is not available.

Components and cooking conditions

salt, soda, sugar

Rehydration medications are considered the most important remedies for digestive problems. They do an excellent job with severe symptoms of impaired water and electrolyte balance, acidosis, which develops with diarrhea, heatstroke, threatening dehydration. The pharmacy tool, which is used to compensate for lost fluid with repeated watery stools, vomiting and increased sweating, contains:

  • Potassium and sodium chloride are intracellular ions that regulate the most important functions of the body.
  • Glucose - enhancing cellular energy metabolism.
  • Sodium citrate, which increases the alkaline stores in the blood, reduces its clotting.

The instructions for the powder clearly state how to make Rehydron's solution. One sachet is enough to dissolve in a liter of plain boiled chilled water. You can replace the industrial-made Rehydron with a home counterpart. He, like a pharmacy, will not taste too pleasant, but will help the patient prevent the development of unpleasant consequences.

To use a homemade solution, you must have edible salt, soda, sugar, boiled water. It is not necessary to maintain sterility when preparing the medicinal composition, but the dishes in which it will be prepared must be clean. You should also remember that the table and hands are clean so that pathogenic microbes do not get into the Rehydron solution prepared at home and do not aggravate the patient's condition.

Cooking recipes

add a teaspoon of sugar to the water

When it is necessary to prepare a salt drink, having all the ingredients, certain proportions are required. Many people know well how to quickly prepare Rehydron at home. The method of its manufacture is simple: add a teaspoon of salt and sugar to a liter of boiled chilled water. Then the ingredients are mixed thoroughly. There is another popular recipe: a liter of water, half a teaspoon of baking soda and salt, 4 tablespoons of sugar are mixed and stored in the cold for no longer than a day.

You can prepare a solution for children according to this recipe: a tablespoon of granulated sugar and half a teaspoon of salt and soda are mixed in a glass of drinking water. This remedy can be given to the baby every 3-5 minutes before the doctor arrives. You can also make your own solution using raisins. 100 g of dried grape berries are boiled for 30 minutes. After straining, sugar, salt and soda are added to the broth in the usual amount.

You can make Rehydron at home for both a child and an adult in this way: 18-20 g of salt are stirred in one liter jar of boiled water. A similar amount of sugar is stirred in another jar. It is necessary to take the finished product every 10 minutes, first from one, then from another can.

Important! With prolonged storage, salts precipitate, so the drug becomes unsuitable for treatment.

How to use

Girl drinking water

The optimal amount of consumption of a pharmacy or home drug that normalizes the water and salt balance in the body is considered to be twice the volume of fluid that was lost during the illness. Each person should correctly calculate the dosage before taking the solution. For example, for a child who has lost 200 g of weight, the dose of Regidron should be 400 g. The therapy, if necessary, is extended by 3-4 days, while the patient should also use another liquid.

For rehydration, the finished drug is taken warm, in small sips. So the beneficial composition can be absorbed faster. For mild vomiting in a child, a salt drink is offered in frozen ice cubes.

Important! It is necessary to take solutions for dehydration competently. You cannot combine them with similar medications. It should be borne in mind that salt formulations are not the main method of treatment. They restore electrolyte metabolism, but do not remove toxic substances and pathogens from the body.

Overdose and special instructions

weakness

Rehydron, which we make ourselves, like any drug, must be consumed in accordance with the dosage. With its excessive use, you may experience:

  • Weakness, lethargy, drowsiness.
  • Neuromuscular arousal.
  • Confusion, loss of consciousness.
  • Convulsions.

An overdose is especially dangerous with the development of hyperkalemia and hypernatremia in children. A similar condition can end with a convulsive attack, respiratory arrest, falling into a coma. Increased levels of potassium and sodium chloride in blood plasma are most often observed with prolonged use of rehydration solution. A single use of the drug, even in a large volume, does not provoke alarming symptoms of an overdose.

You can help the patient in this situation by conducting therapeutic measures. They are based on the elimination of excess minerals by stimulating the urinary system. For this, diuretics are used in a hospital setting.

An industrial or home rehydron cannot be considered a harmless remedy. It has some contraindications, for example:

  • Renal pathology.
  • Indomitable vomiting.
  • Diabetes.
  • Severe hypertension.

If the patient does not have frequent vomiting, then it is necessary to give him the drug ten minutes after vomiting.

you should immediately consult a doctor if:

  • Diarrhea with bloody discharge.
  • Severe abdominal pain.
  • Cessation of urine flow.
  • Diarrhea lasting longer than 5 days.
  • High body temperature.

Which to choose?

Regidron

Both an industrial medication and a homemade Regidron act in the same way. They provide irreplaceable help in case of poisoning, allowing you to quickly restore the water-salt balance. But there are still differences:

  • Pharmaceutical Rehydron has a pronounced effect on the restoration of lost salts, which cannot be achieved with a home remedy.
  • The industrial solution has clear instructions and dosage, which makes it possible to accurately calculate the volume of the drug and avoid overdose.
  • You can make Rehydron at home by adding citrus juice or other fruit concentrates, which facilitates the treatment of the child. When preparing a pharmacy solution, it is forbidden to add unnecessary ingredients.

Better a pharmacy or homemade salt drink is for the patient to decide. But it should be borne in mind that experts recommend using a homemade product with a mild degree of dehydration. In severe cases, the patient needs the help of specialists and the intake of effective proven medicines that eliminate not only the pronounced symptoms of poisoning, but also the causes of fluid loss.

When a long-lasting diarrhea or vomiting is detected at a child, then you should not wait for this condition to be aggravated by dehydration. It is extremely dangerous from the body of a baby of liquid and minerals from the body, which can affect the operation of the organs. Therefore, medicine workers often resemble parents about the presence of effective drugs for rehydration, which are able to prevent dehydration, one of which is "regider".

But he does not always find himself in the first-aid kit at the right time. Therefore, if there is no possibility to run in the pharmacy, use the recipes for cooking at home.

How to prepare a "regider" for a child at home?

Rehydron recipe at homeRegading pharmacy drugs are many, but doctors most often recommend applying at home with a regiment. It is a mixture of substances that, when dissolved in conventional boiled water, form a saline solution, which not only compensates for the loss of water, but also completely restores the broken balance of salt in the body.

Independent preparation of the solution from pharmacy drugs

There are cases when the use of the REGIDRON should begin immediately, and the regideron in home first aid kit not. You can get out of this situation, having the following drugs in the first aid kit:

  • sodium chloride in the amount of 3.5 grams;
  • sodium bicarbonate in the amount of 2.5 grams;
  • Potassium chloride in the amount of 1.5 grams;
  • glucose in the amount of 20 grams.

If the child has acute vomiting, then sodium bicarbonate must be replaced by a sodium citrate and slightly reduce the amount of salt. In the solution you cannot add other components to not disrupt the balance of minerals.

The above list of "ingredients" is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is used in the production of REGIDRONE and other similar drugs.

Preparation of a solution from home "ingredients"

Solution for diarrhea and poisoningBut, if the above preparations are not available? How to replace the regider? There is an alternative - these are more affordable substances that are available in any kitchen in the arsenal of the hostess. Home regions prepared with their own hands will consist of:

  • one liter of water;
  • a teaspoon of cook salt (without a slide);
  • teaspoon of food soda (without a slide);
  • tablespoon sugar (without a roller).

The above recipe is approved by most doctors and specialists of traditional medicine and is not inferior in its effect pharmacy drugs.

The composition of the pharmacy "Regidron"

The regider consists of the following substances:

  1. Sodium chloride (NaCl), which contributes to the beginning of the removal of the products of bacteria and other toxins from the body and normalizes sodium balance in the blood.
  2. Potassium chloride (KCL). This substance regulates blood pressure and restores the pure balance and acid in the stomach of the child.
  3. Dextrose, which is designed to increase the level of metabolism, potassium citrate and sodium in the blood. This increase leads to the restoration of the functions of the cells of the body.
  4. Sodium citrate, which reduces the acidity in the stomach.

Production of this drug began in 2011. Since then, the recider is produced in powder form and is implemented in dosage packages. It can be purchased as a whole package of 20 packages and ply.

Indications for use

The regider is recommended to be used in the presence of intoxication of the body and with acute intestinal disorders that cause loss of fluid from the body. It is worth understanding that, the earlier to begin to take it, the less damage will receive the body of the child.

How to take rehydron?

How to give your child RehydronRehydron can be introduced into the body in two ways:

  • oral administration (by mouth);
  • injection into a vein.

There are usually no problems with the first case, and the second should only be used if the mother is a healthcare professional and understands the full risk of home injection of such a substance into the blood.

When taken orally, it is worth remembering that if the child has acute vomiting, then the amount of solution taken should be increased. This is due to the fact that vomiting does not allow the liquid to stay in the stomach for a long time and is excreted. At the same time, the digestibility of the drug is practically absent.

Before you start taking it, you need to weigh the baby in order to see the dynamics of the restoration of water mass in the body in the future.

Before use, the contents of the package are diluted in one liter of water. Then the resulting solution is used orally. A child should consume 10 ml of this solution per hour, that is, approximately 1 teaspoon every 10 minutes. Moreover, if the amount of loose stools decreases, then with each dose the dosage of the drug is reduced to 5 ml per hour. The main thing during treatment is to take the solution regularly.

But, if the stool does not become less liquid, then the dosage can be raised to 15 ml per hour. In recommended doses, Rehydron can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

The child's diet should not differ from the daily one. Unless you give up drinks that contain caffeine. This must be done because caffeine can increase the excretion of water from the body.

Features of taking Rehydron for newborns

Since diarrhea or vomiting in newborn children quickly develops dehydration of the body and disrupts the water-electrolyte balance, all efforts should be directed to treating the child.

Rehydron for a newborn child should be injected into the mouth by any means, for example, with a syringe, pipette or other method that is not traumatic for him. If the child has severe vomiting and you are not able to regularly administer the solution into the oral cavity, then the child should be sent for inpatient treatment.

Side effects

If Rehydron is used using the above recommendations for use, then side effects are not detected. The risk of developing side effects in the form of the accumulation of excessive amounts of water in the body exists in children with various kidney pathologies.

When to see a doctor?

Signs of dehydration that require immediate medical attention are listed below:

  • lack of tears when crying;
  • dry skin in the mouth;
  • large consumed amount of water;
  • small volume of urination;
  • brightly colored urine with a pronounced ammonia odor;
  • anti-fever drugs do not bring down the temperature;
  • weight loss;
  • coarsening of the skin.

All of the above signs are explained by the fact that the child loses a large amount of water through vomiting and diarrhea. Most often this happens due to a deterioration in the child's appetite, since during the meal the child received the required amount of water and minerals.

If, after taking the drug, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rare urination, lethargy remain for three days, then the child must be shown to the pediatrician in order to examine the cause of the above symptoms. If the child is in serious condition, it is recommended that further treatment be carried out in a hospital. But in this case, dehydration therapy implies taking Rehydron, only with a more effective method - injection into a vein.

Overdose

If the required dosage is exceeded, the following symptoms may be detected:

  • allergic condition;
  • a rash that does not have a clear localization;
  • an increase in sodium in the blood, which can lead to an abundant removal of water from the cells;
  • unexplained weakness and drowsiness;
  • convulsions.

Contraindications

Rehydron should not be used with other medications. This is due to the fact that rehydron affects the acidic environment in the intestine, and this, in turn, will cause the nonabsorption of other drugs.

Pharmacy analogues of Regidron

Rehydron analogs for childrenIf you do not believe in the power of home rehydron, and there is no pharmacy at hand, then you can use the following similar drugs:

  1. Humana Electrolyte.
  2. Polyphepan.
  3. RegidronBio.
  4. Gidrovit, GidrovitForte.
  5. Enterodesis.

How to make rehydron with your own handsWhen we come to this world, water makes up almost ninety percent of our weight.

The body, in a short period of time, runs the risk of losing such volumes of fluid, which will raise the question of the patient's life point-blank.

For babies get "Gidrovit" with strawberry flavor, "Citraglucosolan". Any of these can be purchased without a prescription.

The most popular remedy for rehydration and detoxification is Rehydron. The dosed powder contains:

  • 2.5 g of potassium chloride;
  • 2.9 g sodium citrate dihydrate;
  • 3.5 g sodium chloride;

  • Rehydron at home, recipeRecipe 1.

How to make rehydron at homeIn the future, the dosage is easy to calculate: while the diarrhea is pronounced, ten milliliters of the drug solution are taken for each kilogram of weight.

Description of the drug

Despite the fact that the drug has long established itself as an effective and safe remedy for dehydration, both the pharmacy Regidron and the self-prepared remedy have a number of contraindications.

Rehydron should be taken with caution by people with the following pathologies:

  1. Diabetes mellitus, both type 1 and 2;
  2. Acute renal failure
  3. Bowel obstruction.

Besides, hypertensive patients after using the drug should take care of the removal of excess salts from the body with the help of diuretics. Otherwise, an excess of salts can provoke an increase in pressure.

Overdose of ferrous

It should be remembered that the reception of even very large doses of both pharmacy reguder and the drug that we do ourselves will lead to overdose. Only the use of large doses of the drug for a long time can provoke hypernatrimia.

Symptoms for overdose:

  • weakness;
  • nervousness;
  • convulsions;
  • violation of consciousness;
  • Children can have a coma.

In case of overdose, it is necessary to get rid of an excess in the body of mineral salts with diuretic drugs. In this case, furymide or its analogues are well suited.

What is the pharmacy drug:

  • potassium chloride;
  • sodium citrate;
  • sodium chloride;
  • water;
  • glucose.

Recipe for Recipe Recipe at home

There are several options for the preparation of the solution to restore the electrolyte balance itself if there is no pharmacy preparation.

The easiest option can be done by yourself, even while on a picnic or on a hike. To make a solution for dehydration, it is enough to dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt and sugar in a glass of warm boiled water.

The following option is much better and faster thanks to the body, its composition is quite similar to pharmacy, so with strong dehydration it is better to prepare it instead of pharmaceutical regider.

For cooking you need:

  • 0.5 l. purified or boiled warm water;
  • 2 tbsp. Sugar spoons;
  • 1 / 4th soda spoon;

  1. Dry mouth;
  2. Children cry without tears;
  3. Dry skin;
  4. Infrequent urination;

Doctor Komarovsky on how to make a rehydron for children at home

With vomiting, prolonged diarrhea, especially if the infection is accompanied by a high fever, the child has a very dangerous prospect - dehydration may begin. Therefore, every time Dr. Komarovsky, talking about such conditions, emphasizes the need to use means for oral rehydration, such as "Regidron", "Humana Electrolyte", etc. They allow you to quickly restore the water-salt balance in the baby's body, and avoid the most severe consequences of dehydration.

But not always in an emergency there is an opportunity to visit a pharmacy or it is not possible to make a supply of such medicines in a home medicine cabinet. Then you can prepare the solution with your own hands, and in terms of properties it will not be inferior to the pharmaceutical preparation. Pediatrician Evgeny Komarovsky tells how to do this and how to use the resulting solution correctly.

About rehydration products

Oral rehydration products Yevgeny Komarovsky calls the most important in the family medicine cabinet for sane parents. Since the overwhelming majority of childhood ailments are infectious, pathological fluid loss by the child's body is not uncommon. And with intestinal infections, and with viral diseases, which are accompanied by high fever, intoxication, vomiting or diarrhea, and with food poisoning, rehydration means will be the main treatment for the baby.

They are a mixture of salts, which, when dissolved with ordinary boiled water, gives a liquid, when drinking, not only compensates for the loss of water. It also makes it possible to restore the deficit of salts and minerals lost with vomit, frequent loose stools, with sweat, which are very important for the normal functioning of all organs and systems.

The most famous oral rehydration products in Russia:

  • "Regidron";
  • Hydrovit;
  • "Marathonik";
  • "Normohydron";
  • Orasan;
  • "Reosolan";
  • "Humana Electrolyte".

During illness, the child eats less, and this is quite natural, but it is with food that young children receive a large amount of liquid, since they eat cereals, soups, kefirs. Lack of appetite, although physiologically conditioned, has an additional effect on the dehydration process.

A method in which treatment is directed towards fluid and salt replenishment is called rehydration therapy. If necessary, you can introduce the necessary substances into the body to the child in two ways:

  • through the mouth, if he drinks, assimilates and removes the solution;
  • intravenously - through a dropper, if he refuses to drink or vomits so often that everything drunk immediately comes out.

The second method is not practiced at home; this is the task of the ambulance doctors and specialists in infectious diseases hospitals.

In most cases, parents are great at coping with the problem in the first way - oral. If there are ready-made pharmaceutical bags of "Regidron" or another drug from the above list, it is enough to dilute them with the required amount of water, as it is written on the package. The drug is not a prescription drug and is available to everyone.

If for some reason there are no ready-made sachets, and there is no way to get them in the next half hour, then you can prepare the solution yourself. It does not include any special ingredients that would not be in the kitchen of any housewife.

Recipe at home

The World Health Organization considers it correct if a solution for drinking with intoxication with a volume of 1 liter of water contains:

  • sodium chloride (3.5 g);
  • sodium bicarbonate (2.5 g);
  • potassium chloride (1.5 g);
  • glucose (20 g).

When treating children from severe intestinal infections accompanied by severe diarrhea or vomiting, it is recommended to add 2.9 g of trisodium citrate to the solution instead of sodium bicarbonate, and reduce the salt (sodium chloride) content to 2.6 g.

Home cooking has nothing to do with a chemical laboratory, and therefore Komarovsky cites the above recommendations solely for general familiarization with the composition of the rehydration solution. At home, the preparation of the product will look like this:

  • 1 liter of boiled warm water;
  • table salt (you can take iodized salt, but it is better - the most ordinary) - 3 grams (this is 1 teaspoon without top);
  • sugar 18 grams (or sucrose for those who cannot tolerate sugar in the same amount). This is a little less than a tablespoon.

This recipe is approved by the World Health Organization as fully compliant with the requirements for a drug with rehydration properties.

How to apply?

The prepared solution must be thoroughly mixed until all crystals and salt and sugar are completely dissolved in water. The taste of the mixture is not the most pleasant, and therefore it is not worth expecting that the child will start drinking it with delight, says Yevgeny Komarovsky.

The resulting solution should be given warm. It is desirable that the temperature of the liquid be equal to the body temperature of the baby - if this condition is met, the liquid will be absorbed and absorbed faster.

There is no definite dosage, but there is an important rule: the more the child drinks, the better. Therefore, you need to drink as much and often as possible. If there are no symptoms of dehydration, it is enough for the child to drink the prepared liter of solution for three to four hours.

If alarming symptoms of dehydration appear, the dosage should be increased. These signs include:

  • dry skin, crying without tears, dry tongue, feeling of constant thirst in the baby;
  • rare urination (for three hours, he never leaves for "little need");
  • urine has a bright saturated color, and sometimes a pungent odor;
  • antipyretic drugs do not give any pronounced effect;
  • sharpening of facial features, the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.

If the vomiting is very intense, and it is not possible to give the child a drink in a normal way, you need to give him a drip from a disposable syringe without a needle, a baby drinker, a teaspoon - whatever, as long as he drinks. If even such a small amount is not absorbed, you should call an ambulance to give the child intravenous rehydration. It is not worth storing the homemade solution for too long: if not all the diluted amount is drunk in 3-4 hours, it is advisable to prepare a new portion.

Dr. Komarovsky will tell you more about the dehydration of a child's body and how to prepare a rehydron solution at home in the next video.

Rehydron is a rehydration agent that has a balanced content of trace elements. The medicine is suitable for increasing the volume of circulating blood, oral rehydration after bleeding, with infectious diseases, hyperthermia, with prolonged vomiting or diarrhea, accompanied by a change in the acid-base balance. Also, the drug is used for poisoning and toxic damage to normalize the patient's condition. The ability to use the salt composition of Rehydron for the treatment of children favorably distinguishes this drug, facilitates the course of certain pathological conditions.

pharmachologic effect

Pharmacodynamics

Due to the presence of sodium and potassium in a balanced ratio, the drug Regidron can be used to correct a violation of the water-electrolyte state of the body of any etiology. Sodium and potassium salts dissociate into ions, which are necessary to maintain the rate of metabolic processes, the integrity of cell membranes, and the full functioning of ion pumps at the cellular level. The necessary ratio of these microelements ensures the integrity of homeostasis when taking Regidron in any amount until the desired therapeutic effect is achieved.

Glucose in the composition of the drug Regidron acts as a sorbent and a universal antidote, which is widely used in the relief of poisoning, exogenous or endogenous intoxication. Citrates are involved in maintaining the acid-base balance, which needs to be corrected both in a number of pathological conditions, when Rehydron is indicated, and when drinking a large amount of liquid inside.

Also, the mineral component of the Regidron powder maintains the concentration of ions during profuse sweating, maintaining the functional readiness of muscle tissue in normal conditions, including the heart muscle. A feature of Regidron is a reduced concentration of sodium in the composition compared to other analogues - solutions for oral rehydration, and an increased concentration of potassium in order to reduce the risk of hypokalemia.

Pharmacokinetics

The osmolarity of 1 liter of the ready-made Regidron solution is 235-255 mOsm. The acidity (pH) is 8.2.

Absorption begins already in the oral cavity and continues in a small volume throughout the gastrointestinal tract, most of all electrolytes are absorbed in the large intestine along with the liquid fraction. Distribution occurs through the systemic circulation - water and electrolytes are passively absorbed, further their metabolism and distribution occurs without the inclusion of enzyme systems, corresponds to natural. Glucose is transported by active transporters and undergoes biochemical reactions of glycolysis, the metabolism corresponds to the complete natural metabolism of carbohydrates.

The components of the drug are excreted completely in the urine and feces.

Indications for use

Rehydron is indicated for oral use to restore the water-salt balance during mild to moderate dehydration, to correct the acid-base balance in case of profuse diarrhea or vomiting, with heat lesions (heatstroke, sunstroke), which are accompanied by a violation of the mineral balance. Indications for use are also physical activity, which is accompanied by profuse sweating, states of endogenous and exogenous intoxication, for the prevention of dehydration.

To prepare Rehydron's solution, dilute the contents of one sachet with 1 liter of boiled water at room temperature. It is not recommended to add other components to the solution, as this may disrupt the effect of the drug.

With a hangover, Regidron will ensure the effect of the sorbent and restore mineral metabolism, for this you should drink 500 ml of the finished solution twice a day, until the symptoms disappear. Drinking a large amount of fluids stimulates diuresis, which contributes to the rapid elimination of toxic alcohol metabolites from the body.

In case of vomiting and poisoning, it is worth taking Regidron with caution - profuse vomiting can only be intensified by the intake of a large amount of liquid, you must first stop vomiting and only then carry out rehydration. Vomiting can lead to severe dehydration, then parenteral administration of saline solutions is indicated to restore the water-salt balance and adjust the pH, only after the acute condition is relieved, the patient is advised to switch to Rehydron oral solution. Poisoning is accompanied by diarrhea, therefore, the use of a solution at a dose of 30-60 ml / kg of body weight is indicated, which must be maintained for 6-10 hours.

In case of diarrhea (diarrhea), the drug should be diluted as described above and taken immediately from the onset of diarrhea, regularly for 6-10 hours, calculating the dose from the ratio: the amount of Rehydron solution used should be twice the amount of lost fluid - with a loss of 300 ml, it is necessary to restore 600 ml respectively.

With rotavirus in children, symptoms of profuse diarrhea are observed, and Rehydron can be used for symptomatic therapy and to maintain the hydration of the body during a period of profuse fluid loss. The solution should be used to replenish the lost liquid in a double size. In case of alcohol intoxication for 6-10 hours, Regidron can be consumed along with pure liquid, calculating the dose as 30-60 ml / kg of body weight.

With ARVI, which is accompanied by a temperature reaction, Regidron can be used to relieve symptoms of endogenous intoxication and to increase urine output. In both a child and an adult patient, the course of taking Rehydron is 3-4 days, until the symptoms of a viral disease decrease or disappear.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of the drug Regidron are:

  • sensitization to the components of the drug or cases of allergic reactions after taking it in anamnesis - there are cases of anaphylactic reactions after ingestion of the drug against the background of previously transferred reactions to individual components of the drug;
  • severe dehydration with hemodynamic shock - with a sharp decrease in the volume of circulating blood, progressive heart failure may develop, which will lead to cardiac arrest. In this case, only parenteral (intravenous) rehydration is indicated;
  • unconsciousness, coma - the patient cannot take oral solution in the absence of consciousness;
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • glucose intolerance and other fermentopathies - for people with congenital or acquired deficiency of enzymes for converting glucose or galactose, the use of Rehydron is contraindicated due to the presence of glucose in the preparation;
  • profuse vomiting;
  • profuse diarrhea of cholera genesis.

Side effects

The incidence of side effects of Rehydron directly correlates with an increase in the dose of the drug. The most common side effects are:

  • hypernatremia - with frequent use of Rehydron, an increase in the concentration of sodium in the blood plasma is possible, which is compensated after discontinuation of the drug;
  • hyperkalemia - can develop even in patients with normal renal function with regular use of oral rehydration solution. The concentration of potassium in the solution is relatively high, this should be borne in mind by patients that are on a potassium diet;
  • vomiting - can develop as a result of drinking a large amount of liquid in a short period, which leads to overstretching of the walls of the stomach and provokes a gag reflex;
  • allergic reactions - in people with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, sensitization to its individual components, or allergic reactions after using Regidron in history.

Overdose

It is possible in patients with impaired filtration and concentration functions of the kidneys - in this case, hypernatremia and hyperkalemia may develop, which are manifested by systemic disorders, exacerbation of the underlying pathology, cardiac symptoms - tachycardia or bradycardia, arrhythmia, and muscle pain.

In patients with full renal function, overdose is unlikely.

Interaction

The drug Rehydron at the pharmaceutical, pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic stages of transformation is chemically inert, its metabolism does not include the enzyme systems of the liver and kidneys, the biotransformation of the drug components and their elimination occurs naturally. Information about the interaction with other drugs, antagonism in relation to them or potentiation was not reported.

Indirectly, a plentiful intake of the drug can cause a decrease in the absorption of other drugs due to the rapid passage of intestinal contents and diarrhea - this reduces the residence time of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract.

Reception of Regidron changes the acidity of the medium to the alkaline side, which can affect the biotransformation and transport of some drugs. Separate studies on the interaction and changes in the acidity of the environment when taking Regidron have not been carried out.

Regidron's analogs

There are a large number of Rehydron analogues on the market, which differ in the form of release, active ingredient, mechanism of action, price and patient reviews. For some drugs, there are strict indications for use that differ from those of Rehydron. Let's consider the most common analogs.

Which is better: Rehydron or Smecta?

Smecta is a powder for the preparation of a solution for oral administration, which is developed on the basis of the sorbent diosmectite. For this reason, the sorbing effect of this drug is much higher than that of Regidron. Associated with this are the main indications for the use of Smecta as a drug of choice: acute food poisoning, profuse diarrhea, flatulence, flatulation. But the medicine does not contain a sufficient amount of minerals, therefore it does not restore the water-salt balance and does not affect the pH of the internal environment. Thus, Rehydron is more appropriate for use in case of acute blood loss, diarrhea, vomiting, which reduce the volume of circulating blood and lead to dehydration.

Smecta is not recommended for permanent use and has more side effects due to the synthetic origin of the sorbent and chemical transformations of the drug components. Regidron, however, completely consists of water, glucose and salts of microelements, therefore its metabolism is natural and harmless.

Which is better: Rehydron or Polysorb?

Another enterosorbent in the form of a powder for preparing a suspension for oral administration Polysorb has another active ingredient - highly dispersed silicon dioxide. It absorbs toxic substances in the intestinal lumen, is practically not absorbed by itself and removes them from the body in a natural way. Therefore, the agent can be used to treat poisoning and to relieve intoxication - Polysorb creates a difference in osmotic pressure and helps to remove toxic substances from the blood and lymph into the intestinal lumen.

Unlike Regidron, Polysorb does not have a balanced content of trace elements, in particular potassium and sodium. Therefore, taking it will not help with diseases accompanied by abundant loss of fluid with these dissolved trace elements. For this reason, Rehydron has broader indications for use.

Which is better: Rehydron or Enterosgel?

In addition to the pronounced properties of the sorbent, Enterosgel also differs from other drugs of this kind in its ability to envelop the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract and protect it for a long time, which is used for wound healing and recovery from the transferred pathology. But long-term use of Enterosgel can cause dyspeptic manifestations in the form of constipation or heaviness in the abdomen.

In comparison with Rehydron, this sorbent better removes signs of intoxication, but if it is necessary to improve hydration, it is useless, since it does not contain all microelements.

Which is better: Rehydron or Enterofuril?

Enterofuril has some absorbing properties, but the main effect of this drug is not at all the ability to absorb toxins. It is a nifuroxazide-based antibacterial agent that is used to treat acute intestinal infections. For this reason, the indications for use are completely different from those of Regidron. The drug requires more caution when using, calculating the dose, it is characterized by more side effects. It does not affect the hydration of the body, but it can be indicated for combined use with Rehydron for a complex effect.

Which is better: Rehydron or Hydrovit?

Hydrovit is very similar in description and composition to Regidron - unlike the above sorbents, it contains sodium and potassium salts, citrate for pH correction and dextrose (instead of glucose). This makes it very appropriate for oral rehydration therapy when circulating blood volume is drastically reduced.

According to the indications for use and the mechanism of action, the two drugs correspond to each other, but Regidron has a peculiarity - it contains less sodium, and more potassium than Hydrovit. Therefore, with a decrease in kidney function, side effects when taking Hydrovit develop faster.

Regidron during pregnancy

There is no information on the dangers of using the drug Regidron during pregnancy if you use it within the permissible dose. The medicine normalizes blood electrolyte levels, replenishes the circulating blood volume and accelerates the elimination of toxins from the body.

The distribution of the components of the drug corresponds to the natural distribution of water, mineral salts and glucose, which does not harm the organs and systems of the pregnant woman. Each of the substances that are part of Regidron is harmless and chemically inert, does not disrupt biochemical processes. Taking Regidron does not affect milk production, and the substances from the solution do not pass into breast milk, so the medicine can be used during lactation and breastfeeding.

Exceeding the specified dose of the drug and excessive intake of the solution inside can lead to a violation of water-electrolyte metabolism, its shift to the alkaline side, as well as to an increase in the volume of circulating blood, followed by an increase in blood pressure, hypernatremia and hyperkalemia. An overdose can be more dangerous for a pregnant woman's body than for an average patient's body.
